One of the early one-hoof wonders. A Billy Joel cover, "Always Be Lyra", was a  reaction to Hasbro announcing they were changing Lyra's name to "Heartstrings" for the eventual toy release and also from Bon Bon's POV. A heart-felt rendition and it might have convinced them to eventually change it to Lyra Heartstrings (at least that's what we'd like to think). We haven't see any new music since (lots of great art of deviant art account though) but we'll always have this song. <3

"Members Soft D. String DeHooves and Metronome "Matt" Clipclop were leaving the local tavern in Stallion Dimas when they were approached by a brown stallion with a hourglass on his flank, who claimed to be a time-traveler called Hoofus. He told them that they were destined to align the planets, awaken the one true princess, and bring harmony to all the races and critters through their beautiful music. Thus Ghelded Kultz was born. The duo moved to Canterlot to fulfill their destiny, playing at many non-heinous venues. However, with rumors that "these foals can't even play their instruments" (it's experimental ) and that "They worship Discord!" their opportunities were restricted. The band was informally banned from all clubs in Canterlot, forcing them to return to Stallion Dimas."

One of our great former authors and intial contibuters to BMD. Glitchhog was already an active columnist on Equestrian Rhythm before he joined BMD, and like most of us, was a brony musician as well. Nightmare Lyre  first entered the fandom with the short lived Death Metal project "My Dying Pony", a project dedicated to Death Metal covers of FiM songs.He started doing music on a big scale seriously in May 2012 with the release of the track "Deception" as a tribute to Chrysalis, and soon realizing making music solo was a calling, ending up with making a full concept album called "Elements of Suffering" creating a alternate timeline to the events of the first two seasons of FiM, told through instruments. Shortly after more tracks were made, and by the end of February 2013, Nightmare have released as much as 3 full albums, with varying themes and sounds.

Nightmare usually plays around in the instrumental branches of the genres of Metal, Prog, Orchestral Crossover and Experimental Rock, as well as being the creator of the crack genre "Lightshred" which is a mix of Power Metal, Thrash Metal, Orchestral, Techno and must use an Ukulele somewhere in the composition.
