Genre Section

Well we are introducing a new section and a functional addition to the site. While searches have always been beneficial on this site we are making them even easier by creating a genres section and creating links to great music and musicians that fit under them. While these genres below are major genres and many with several subgenres under them, we want to at least try to cover some major groups of brony music we see, and make it easier to find such music by those who specialize in certain styles. Now many artists (such as myself) often jump around from style to style and this may not help you find all those artists as they need to have a genre mentioned in our blog write-up for them to be found in searches. Some artists too may not yet have that as part of their write-up so we may be doing some editing to get you better results based on your feedback. Your feedback on both genre and artist entries will dictate how this site functions on searches, and these are just a highlight of many of the most used parent genres while many smaller ones are grouped and recorded on the Pony Fan Genre List. We hope you find good use of this and that you find the time to give your favorite picks for each genre as a way to recommend your favorite brony music tracks by style and genre and to find more great music out there.

Wanna discover more genres and try something that hasn't been tried in brony circles yet? Take a look through here and discover a wealth of genre exploration and musical history.

    1. Yep part of the profile asks for you to pick from a few of the genres IF you SPECIALIZE in any of them. That way when someone searches under that genre they should find your music profile pop up.

    1. It's common to hear a lot of IDM that IS downtempo but there's plenty of downtempo that ISN'T IDM. Dj Shadow and the Ninjatune label, Trip Hop, Dub, Chill Out, Enigma, Delerium, Ambient in general, this list goes on and on.

  9. Hello!

I'm Volgrand, and I'm about to launch a brony radio station called "Iberbronies Radio" at the end of this month. To classify the music I'm using the same genres you have here. Question is... can I PLEASE use your banners for it?

I would be SO grateful, and of course I'd put a thank you message in the webpage, linking to your blog.

Hope to hear from you soon, thank you for your work! Best wishes.
