"My name is Josh. I don't dabble in any of that fancy electronica business--it's just me, my instruments, one microphone, and a -lot- of layered tracks. I'm not really prolific (mostly because recording stuff doesn't fit in a dorm and I can only record when I'm visiting home), but I work hard on each song I make. I'm currently working on two other songs, both of which are not pony-related, and plan to start a band channel under the name "Invade London". Hope you enjoy!"

One of our great former authors and intial contibuters to BMD. Glitchhog was already an active columnist on Equestrian Rhythm before he joined BMD, and like most of us, was a brony musician as well. He specialized in jazz and piano-based pony music initially, but has put out great electronic music further along (including IDM), and is still a listener for EQD. He has collected his Rarity Kills Sweetie Belle EP on his bandcamp EP and is currently non-pony making progressive house under his Strobe moniker and now Avenir for pony music.

Specializing in acoustic rock, Caine the Doombringer produces very original tracks with even more original lyrics. Besides his apparent great skills in playing a guitar, he's also got a really good and strong voice! You must give this guy a chance and listen to his still-growing number of songs - you won't regret it.

Music By Octavia does arrangements of pony songs in a wide variety of styles. From orchestral to blues, jazz, ska, country, chiptune, flamenco, and more! Perhaps the most unique aspect of Music By Octavia's music is the fact that he legally acquires licenses to make arrangements of the songs and pays royalties to Daniel Ingram and Hasbro for every song sold.

New Genres

We now have 5 new genres in our genre section. Take a look at what genres we highlight for the brony community, some of the highlighted videos for each of those styles, and check to see if you can find a few artists linked that do a great job from each of them. If you see a genre represented but NOT an artist linked that you KNOW has done several tracks in the genre, let us know in the comments section. We can only improve the site by adding genre tags to their artist profiles so they show up and people can find the music they are looking for. It's one of the best features of this site so make sure to check it out and support its further devlopment.

Nightmare Lyre  first entered the fandom with the short lived Death Metal project "My Dying Pony", a project dedicated to Death Metal covers of FiM songs. He started doing music on a big scale seriously in May 2012 with the release of the track "Deception" as a tribute to Chrysalis, and soon realizing making music solo was a calling, ending up with making a full concept album called "Elements of Suffering" creating a alternate timeline to the events of the first two seasons of FiM, told through instruments. Shortly after more tracks were made, and by the end of February 2013, Nightmare have released as much as 3 full albums, with varying themes and sounds.

Nightmare usually plays around in the instrumental branches of the genres of Metal, Prog, Orchestral Crossover and Experimental Rock, as well as being the creator of the crack genre "Lightshred" which is a mix of Power Metal, Thrash Metal, Orchestral, Techno and must use an Ukulele somewhere in the composition.
