FimMusic has Launched!

So I think its about time to put a post on here about FimMusic which is the blog that several of us have put together as a news blog for both the Brony Musician Directory and MyLittleRemix.

We designed it so we could talk and blog about events, musicians, and things that happen on MLR and outside of it in the brony community. It's very much a music site designed by musicians for other musicians and those who still actively listen to and make this music in this community. We'd like to think that we can help get a little more visibility for those who need it as a community music blog. Just like on MLR its fun to be active and enthusiastic about the music we are still making about mlp. It's important to see what others are doing and what's going on in the community.

Zephy's Off-Kilter Picks of the Week

We are introducing a brand new feature for BMD and also for the new FimMusic Tumblr, Zephy's Off Kilter Picks of the Week. These are some assorted tracks that are the favorites of busybody (and bmd staff member) Zephysonas!  He has selected them as the cream of the crop of brony music this week. My Little Creeper Dark Acquaintance

The My Little Creeper: Dark Acquaintance compilation album has been released!

 

Organized through My Little Remix by YakFace!, Dark Acquaintance is the sequel compilation album to a grimdark compilation entitled My Little Creeper that was released last year (link). The theme of the compilation album is a grimdark take on ponies, with an emphasis on psychological horror and genre diversity. The album can be downloaded for free from the new bandcamp.. If you are feeling generous, all donations will go straight to the Humane Society.

New staff member!!

Hey all, we have a new staff member to BMD. Zephysonas!! I'm sure his avatar may look very familiar as if you've ever achieved a spotlight or motd on EQD he's likely been the first to tell you on your channel  that you have! He does this on his own time and now he's also letting these same people know to get signed up on BMD if they haven't before. We hear he also plays the saxophone which we are dying to hear in the future. I hope you guys say thanks the next time he drops by on your youtube and we'll thank him here for doing yet another great piece of charity by helping out on our site!!

Pony.FM launches public beta!

feld0, who created the MLPfourms, has brought a new and exciting website out of Closed Alpha and into Open Beta:

pony.fm

The site aims to be a hub for pony-related music much in the same way EQDmusic wants to, but already has features and under the hood improvements that make it a far better choice for fans of pony music and a place for free hosting of hq formats (flac, wav, and mp3).

Users are currently able to upload their own self-made music and listen to fresh new artists who’ve shared their work thus far. The site promices that the top 20 list will always be fresh, and not suffer from popularity stagnation; basicly, if an song has been featured to long or too often in the top 20 list they will be phased out for newer music so that users of pony.fm will always be able to hear something new.

I've been on there for awhile and I'm a big supporter of this site and it accompanying forum. Check it out and reblog if you can.

BMD Interviews Stars in Autumn

 

The Brony Musician Directory made time to interview one of our favorite and veteran brony musicians, Stars in Autumn (also known as Jeff the Strider). We talked to him at length about his music, his inspirations, the community, and what it takes to make such great quality music. Hope you take time to listen to this fun and informative interview.

Site News

Hey just a heads up to anyone who cares. The Brony Music Directory recently lost Emperor Übermensch as part of our staff as his father has basically cut him off from a lot of contact from the outside world while he goes to college (you can read up on that on the thread from mlr). We are pretty upset by this news and will really miss having him around. Also Matthew N. is going to be away from his home and away on a work related business trip so we will have to make due without one of our most important contributors. We will keep trying to do weekly updates (and we have a few this week) so please be aware of our situation while we try to make do. We appreciate your support.

Oh and the Second Chances has been extended to include any tracks that you may have for all of July and through August 15 with less than 1000 views. If you have one that qualifies then please enter it! Tell your friends and please throw some support our way if you can.
