Taking Requests! Who Are We Missing ?!

While we'd love for people to write out profiles for artists and submit them themselves we can't always get that, so this week we're specifically looking for great bronies who still aren't on this site. New up-and-comers, old veterans, who have we overlooked??

Let us know in the comments below. This is your chance to get your favs on here! We'll get a profile put together and posted if you request them.

Feel free to look through this list and recommend anypony you see that's been tragically overlooked.

AbranteDr

Youtube
Soundcloud

Location: Spain
Age: 20
DAW of Choice: FL Studio

A wonderful electronic music musician and with a head full of great ideas and genres to cover. From the classic rock sampling and electronic hybrid "Cupcakes", to the the electro dance party of "You Do That Thing", to the lightweight hip hop of "May the Best Rap Win", and to the drum & bass fueled "Do Your Best Today", there's a lot of quality music coming from this brony and a desire to avoid complacency. Job accomplished!

Notable track: You Do That Thing

Zephyr Pony

Youtube

Location: USA
Age: 17

Zephyr began with orchestral pony music (such as "Luna's Lament" and "Celestia's Remorse") and has been evolving and expanding his music ever since. Newer tracks have continued to show some amazing skill and talent and with a better vst library to show them off.

Notable track: Specular Light - For The Might of The Solar Empire

DJ Manjaro

Youtube

Location: USA
Age: 17

Began making tracks in Winter 2012 with EqD featured "The Night Will Last Forever" but has made some wonderful if undershadowed tracks since. We'd have to recommend his wonderful trance and electronic as they're certainly as good if not better than his original pony track. A pony that truly deserves some more attention for their music.

Notable track: Innocence

David Larsen

Youtube

Location Denmark
Age: N/A

A brony musician for over a year, his work is often tied into video game ("My Little Portal GLaDOS them" and "Pinkie Sphere") or tv shows (Dexter and Breaking Bad tie-ins) but more often feature original works (and a few show covers). Mostly orchestral pieces and with a very calm and relaxed atmosphere. Some great music here.

Notable track: Magic

Wintergreen

Youtube
Soundcloud

Location: USA
Age: 19

Making pony tracks most of the Spring of 2012 they've made a rather nice spash since arriving. Most of the tracks have a great EDM feel but w/o conforming to traditional trance or dubstep formulas. Almost every track has been EQD featured and there's a reason, because they are quite good. An essential new brony artist.

Notable track: Ordered Chaos

CK / ArcaneSoul

Youtube
Soundcloud

Location: USA
Age: 18

Quite often jumping back and forth between making pony and non-pony tracks, CK's first track, "Discord Theme" might be their most well known but they've made quite a few since and grown musically. Well worth diving in and checking their vast EDM catalog.

Notable track: Fluttershy model mix (CK RMX)

Coconeru

Youtube

Location: USA
Age: 23

Coconeru skill is in singing, voice acting, and also composing. He's been singing on MLP themed covers for awhile but is quite capable of original songs such as the Discord themed "Controlled Chaos", "Equestian National Anthem", and "Kickin' Clouds". So abandon all that dubstep for a bit and enjoy a sung song or two at his channel.

Notable track: Controlled Chaos

"I don't want to limit myself to one electronic genre and want to eventually start calling everything I make either Complextro or IDM. However, for right now I primarily work in Experimental Dubstep and Electro-House." Plenty of tracks on his sites as he's been busy with pony tracks for the better part of the year so check out the sergeant. He also dj's!

Location: California
Age:18

Born is Russia, moved to America early on, and invested in music early on (able to play guitar and piano). After discovering ponies and fl studio he has begun to play all varieties of genres. He says: "I've settled into my own personal niche of drum & bass and electro house "

Notable track: Party in the Ponyville Arcade

DasDeer

Wonderfully talented and quite able to do a wide range of instrumental and orchestral music, he isn't afraid to throw in some rhythm's into his organic sounding landscapes and take on various styles. From the instrumental pop of "Welcome to Ponyville", Orchestral Metal on "Ruffled Feathers", crime jazz of "Backstreets of Canterlot", and flamenco undertones on "Road to Appleloosa" there's not an instrumental stone left unturned.

Notable Track: Road to Appleloosa

FlutterRex

Location: Wrocław, Poland
Age: 23

YouTube
DeviantART

"Music full of bass, punchy drums and distressing atmosphere made by pony wearing goggles." A good description! While only a handful of tracks so far (3 currently) we have to recommend one of the few artists taking not only a grimdark style but also a filthstep sound. Clearly they're found a unique and dark approach to MLP music that few have even attempted and their tracks sound amazingly polished.

Notable Track: Pink Lick

Baschfire

Youtube
Soundcloud
Bandcamp

Location: USA
Age: N/A

A wonderful orchestral mlp musician, you can see that baschfire easily stands in the ranks of his friends Makkon and Overkillius. His earlier work featured multiple tracks dedicated to Princess Luna. His more recent series of classical themes to different MLP characters was collected in the bandcamp album "Epic Final Bosses of Equestria Vol. 1" and is highly recommended.

Notable track: Epic Final Bosses - Twilight Sparkle

Blaze

Youtube (dead)
Youtube Archive

Location: UK
Age: 18

Blaze has quite a few great tracks on his youtube and these cover a lot of ground; from original pony tracks, multiple collaborations, and even some remixes. His style is very modern, often features original vocals or sliced and pitched show vocals, and can best be described as electro although can often include dubstep and drum & bass. His sound is consistent and any anyone liking Tei the Pony or Living Tombstone (who have been included in his remixes and collabs) should definitely check out Blaze as well.

Notable track: TheLivingTombstone - Octavia's Overture (Blaze Remix)

Black Gryphon / Baasik

Youtube
Deviant Art

Location: Alaska
Age: 20

Well known pmv artist, artist, musician, and in active duty in the navy, Black Gryphon makes some great vocal pop (such as "Proud to be a Brony" and "Take Me to Equestria") and often teams up with his brother Baasik (who appears to share his youtube account) for heavier electronic music. He has released such original awesome animation over the memes "Twilightlicious", "Flutterlicious", and Dj Pon-3 as well. Expect that any BlackGryph0n or Baasik release will likely be a massive brony event as his talent is clearly visible and he has a knack for capturing and holding our attention.

Notable track: Baasik + BlackGryph0n - DashStep (An original FiM Dubstep)

Facexplodie

Youtube

Location: USA
Age: N/A
DAW of Choice: Logic Studio

One of the few people to not only remix SoGreatandPowerful (on a "Beautiful Heart") but also collaborate with them very recently ("Other Animals"). Since we've been around long enough to remember when people immediately compared SoGreatandPowerful to the veteran PinkiePieSwear's style, it seems only fitting to see history repeat and yet another amazing brony musician continue in the footsteps of both and yet find new ground to work with. Very impressive complextro (IDM) and vocal slicing and fans of either of the 2 artists should seek out Facexplodie immediately.

CopyCat

Tumblr

Location: Raleigh, North Carolina, USA
Age: 16

Haven't seen too many pony tracks or anything very recent (scratch that, "Not So Moombah After All" just came out a few weeks ago) but when tracks are as sharp as "Capturing Winter In C Sharp", they're worth noting and giving a Rainbow Dash salute.

Notable track: Capturing Winter In C Sharp

Colaeuphoria

Youtube

Location: Wisconsin
Age: 16
DAW of choice: Ableton/Reason

Cola may have only put out 3 tracks for several months now, but he's a well known brony musician to many. His music varies in genre ranging from dark and hard in Everfree, to light and atmospheric in Snowy Equestria Night, to dreamy and Pogo-esque in Fluttershy's Rhapsody. His extensive musical knowledge/experience shines through in songs like Everfree and Fluttershy's Rhapsody, breaking free from overused chord progressions and using chords that accompany the melody in an almost poetic way. His chiptune-inspired songs have caught the attention of Pinkiepieswear, Alex S, and Daniel Ingram, who commented on his song Fluttershy's Rhapsody saying "Fluttershy Trance! Love it. Really good production too. Well done!".

Notable Track: Fluttershy's Rhapsody

randomblockfilms

Youtube

Maker of deceptively simple but quite pretty electronic melodies and creative sample uses. RBF has been around for a while and he has a definite style to his music that's worth taking a listen as it follows it's own path.

Wish I knew more about our fellow with a great set of pipes and some great connections. He can rap and sing well, he's done plenty of collabs (most of the videos are scattered on various youtube channels), and he's got an album coming in the near future. He's definitely a brony that everypony should know and many people (Fragmentd, Art Attack, Taps, etc) already do!

Notable track:
Art Attack - Still Shy VIP

YourEnigma

YouTube

Location: USA
Age: 23

A lot of people have noticed that we are beginning to see an upswing of jazz finally hitting the brony music scene. YourEnigma has been one of the key musicians leading that charge and he features excellent original music and covers it through amazing arrangements and with authentic sounding instruments. Amazing work and becoming the hippest member of the community.

Notable track: Old Hat, New Manehatten

Kyoga

Youtube
Soundcloud

Location: Washington
Age: 19

A guitarist of 10 years, Kyoga has brought various genres to brony music that were not very well covered. Besides bringing true ambient to our scene he has covered neoclassical, metal, and even a little bit of rap on a hip-hop track or two. He has also evolved from an avid poster on MLR to a new moderator and an instructor on cloud synthesis so give ample credit where it is due!

Location: Bremerton
Age: 15

"NytMayr here, here to share my music with the world for no other reason than because I can. I don't think I've made a single track that can fit under one single genre, but generally, expect to see elements of electronic, orchestral, and rock music, though I am a quite versatile composer, and can write songs of completely different genres. I also love music pieces, or even entire albums, that tell stories, so expect those as well.

"I started to try making music because of ponies, and somehow got noticed during my first 'My Little Vocaloid' album. Recently I mostly switched to actually composing stuff, when I'm not working on the 'Cutie Mark Crusade' Adventure series or randomly drawing stuff. I'd love to write more, but I really don't have a huge interesting background story at hand."

"I'm just really some pub musician with a bit of a pony hobby.  I became a fan around the start of January and started writing music for it almost instantly. I try to vary style but it pretty much just bounces between rock and folky acoustic stuff. I do also really have alot of fun doing classical stuff on occasion and my "This Day Aria" cover seems to be pretty popular for some wierd reason. I guess thats it "

Two wonderful acoustic live covers of MLP songs are on his youtube and soundcloud channel. I love the full vocal "Becoming Popular" just a tad over the instrumental, but you be the judge as they are both lovely.

He may not have anymore MLP centered tracks besides the "My Little Pony Meets Metal", but to be honest that's all we need. We just adore his live rendition of our main theme (and his other metal non-pony video game and tv themes renditions aren't bad either).

Notable Track: "My Little Pony Meets Metal"

Pogosama

Youtube

Some really amazing downtempo tracks They started with some vocal hip hop tracks like "If Looks Could Kill" and "My Little MC - Hip Hop Is Magic" but then moved on to mostly relaxing instrumentals with some great beats still present. Wonderful atmospheric chillout and perfect for a relaxing saturday afternoon.  Also Legion thinks Everfree Compromise is a really good song. >_>

Notable Track: "Everfree Compromise"

Lodestone / LykosFreaks

There's not much on his SoundCloud but WIPs, but you'll find a lot of pony rock tracks and collabs with with his pal Zonak on his Youtube and even move videos of pony classics adapted to Rock Band 3. Make sure to seek those out as that's an awesome project.

Notable example: ".Dasha and The Living Tombstone - Good Girl (JayB Remix)"

Nameless Warning

Nameless Warning started making music when he was about 12. He is now making music with FL Studio that is pony focused, and learning much more about the techniques to master the art of making the music. He mainly makes trance or house although ventures outside of that on occasion. Really solid tracks so far!

Notable track: This Day Aria (Nameless Warning remix)

WolfOfSadness

Youtube

Tumblr

Location: N/A
Age: Tempe, Arizona, USA

WolfOfSadness has been making pony tracks for almost a year now and has quite an amazing selection of tracks. He clearly favors making dubstep and drum & bass but do occasionally produce outside of that. Most of his earliest tracks were collected on Oct 2011's "This Pony Got Dirt" and with a follow-up album, "Sup" which was released in December. Both were released on Bandcamp as free downloads and should still be available on there, but be aware there's a plethora of newer and older tracks, all on his Youtube.

Notable track: "Nothing's Changed"

Forever Odin

Best known for the "Winter Jazz Up", one of the earliest jazz tracks in the community. He did follow that with an orchestral and rock soundtrack for Alex Warlorn's Discorded/Reharmonized Ponies fan-fiction reading and a "Becoming Popular" jazz cover.

There's not a load of chiptune pony artists and there's not any (I think) that make uptempo covers with vocal samples. We haven't seen anything by him in many months but we did enjoy his small catalog.

Notable example: Winter wrap up (Chiptune KORG DS-10)

A handful of tracks so far and mostly chillout and house (or a mix of the two actually). We can say they're pretty sample heavy and quite decent, so we are certainly are liking what he has made so far.

Mash-Ups

Mash-ups are part of taking different existing music and meshing them together (almost like the head of hawk and the body of a lion figuratively). It's this fusion of different tracks and samples in a plunderphonic stew which makes a surprisingly cool new modern form of music.

Check out these artists who specialize in this style of music.

Feel free to recommend some artists not included in here (these artists specialize in it) or include up to 10 of your favorite acoustic tracks  in the comments section .

Darkwave

Darkwave
is a genre that is rarely ever "pure", in that there's almost always overlap with other genres. Usually the overlap occurs with dark synth, gothic, postp-unk, and gothic rock, but there are also plenty of occasions of overlap with industrial even. Emphasis is on the beautiful darkness.

Check out these artists who specialize in this style of music.

Feel free to recommend some artists not included in here (these artists specialize in it) in the comments section (for an eventual best of countdown).

Synthpop

Synthpop is the sound of the retro 80's, sometimes in a slightly updated way, more often in a way the screams age old synths. Quite a bronies specialize in it, enough to include its own section on here.

Check out these artists who specialize in this style of music.

Feel free to recommend some artists not included in here (these artists specialize in it) or include up to 10 of your favorite acoustic tracks  in the comments section.

Ska / Punk

We're goint to have an entry for 2 slightly overlapping genres, both who fall just outside of the big rock umbrella. Ska is the upbeat reggae style that often crossover into rock and punk. Punk is stripped down rock with plenty of attitude.  There's just enough of both in the brony community to warrant a highlight on this page. Whether fun or angry you'll find plenty of energy in both.

Check out these artists for Ska and these for Punk who specialize in this style of music.
